great second post! Are you sure the firmware (of the MCU on used on the display) of your still not disclosed third party product is the same?Wow. Seriously? Every single technical forum I've ever seen always complains about posting duplicate threads about similar issues, but here it's criticized to mention possibly similar issues in already existing threads?hijacking threats is not very helpful as you're using a third party product. I have no idea what 'an old waveshare 5in display' is but this might be if interest: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/6538
People always say "search first", "read the forum first", "do not make duplicate threads", so how is anyone supposed to know when to start new threads and when not to?
Also, what is the difference if I'm using a third party product or not? It still uses the same firmware, it still uses the same overlay and it still uses the same chip as one of the previous official Raspberry Pi 7inch DSI displays used to use (TC358762) so I might as well be asking about an older RPi display. I'm really regretting being honest right now. And the GitHub issue you responded with is completely unrelated.
I don't get why every single technical forum I've ever seen in my life sucks so bad that the first instinct of anyone responding is to attack or complain.
