SD card is hot swappable from my tests. With /etc/fstab entry the SD will auto mount at boot or the first time the card is hot inserted. I can manually mount/umount at will.

Although somewhat tricky** with a P5 or P4B and much easier with a P400 (and, presumably the P500) once you're booting with the O.S. etc. on the SSD you can use the card slot as a card reader/writer. That also means you can access its CID info (and maybe decode it****) which may hint that that "bargain priced" uSD card may not have been quite what was implied by the packaging (eg. older than you thought it was).Trev.
