Here another user. It must be some update, a month ago everything worked. Now I can not back up my data .. this is a problem for me.
I tried deleting empty mount point directories and also changing their ownership and mod. Neither helps. I am still getting dialog An operation is already pending
I spotted that the automatically created non working mount point has "root" as owner and group. To the contrary working drive has "pi" (my default user) owner and group.
I have attached screenshot documenting it. Non working drive is WD_RED_6TB. The other MY BOOK works just fine. It is EXT4 drive. Another external EXT4 drives work as well. But both my NTFS back up drives stopped working.
