Troubleshooting • Re: Mounting Synology Shared Folder

I am not an expert on mounting things, but I thought it was '//WHERE/SHARE_NAME', not what is after the 'path' parameter in the smb, conf on the server.
Well you could have fooled me! You spotted an error that has been the bane of my existence for 2 weeks. You were correct about the ‘ //WHERE/SHARE_NAME’ format. When I first started working on this, I went into my Synology NAS and set up my shared folder and I was going to use NFS (which I never figured out). At the bottom of the page there was a note that said, ‘ Mount Path: /volume1/homes’ and that is what I started using on everything. After pulling my hair out for almost two weeks and reading a crap-ton, I ran across something that made me try /ip address/homes/ and that was the first time I was able to mount it.

After that I started trying to make the mount persistent. I will give this latest information you sent a try as soon as I get back in front of my Pi. Thanks again!
