HATs and other add-ons • Re: "Active Cooler" thermal pad size

I tried again, and now I've done it!

I have now cut the pads to the exact size and stacked them. The side with the PMIC is slightly higher, but everything is in its place! The temperatures are also better now!

I hope they see this post and use a thicker thermal pad in the future so that there is contact between the cooler and the chip!

I'm looking at the official active heatsink that I got with a Pi 5 over the Christmas holiday. The pad over the PMIC is thicker but maybe not thick enough as the pad for the CPU prevents it from making contact.

Is this something that will squish together over time, or is it better to add additional thickness to the PMIC pad?

Has anyone looked at theirs after some time to see what happened?
