Add: The RPI Organization is a business. They don't do it for free; they do no build hardware and software to lose money. This is a business. The way I see it, the more product I sell based on their tech, the more tech they sell and it is a mutual win-win for RPI and for my business. I've already sold thousands of my dashboard systems based on the RPI3B+. I ordered an RPI5 last week and over the weekend began working on setting it up with the latest OS to run my application. In a day's time I had my application running in the GUI flawlessly at 3X the framerate as with the RPI3B+.... BUT, the changes to the OS have prevented me from running it directly from the CLI.I am running a business. If that offends you then I am genuinely sorry.
I have no problem with folks who run businesses.
I do have a problem with folks who run businesses asking for help from volunteers without being up front about it. That's just me though others don't and it's not against forum policy.
I wish you luck with your endeavors but I won't be getting involved further.
I have reached out here for assistance AFTER exploring all other avenues to make my script work in the new bookworm OS.
My question to you is: Are you REALLY here to provide your expertise and knowledge to the support of this platform or are you more interested in being a sort of governing body that is trying to regulate how the raspberrypi.com organization distributes the support of their product? Correct me if I am wrong here but, I'm pretty sure you are not on RPI's payroll: yes, no?
My suggestion to you here is simple, like the old adage we ALL learned as children: "If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all."
You are either here to help or you are here for your own ulterior motives.... and I am calling you out on those ulterior motives now, Sir.
