Troubleshooting • Pi 5 installation / booting not correctly working

Hello,

I don't know what else I can try. I've been trying to get the Pi up and running for over 5 hours.

Today my new Raspberry Pi 5 (8 GB) arrived with the extra power supply for it (27 W). I first had a new SanDisk Extreme 128 GB microSDXC -A2- -v30- U3 bought from the store and tried to install various operating systems (64-bit) as normal with the Raspbian Imager. I actually got an error once when installing Ubuntu 24.04.01 TLS Desktop, but unfortunately I can't remember the exact error. After that I wanted to try Raspberry Pi OS but after 30 minutes it only had 16% and I canceled it.

I had read on the Internet that the Pi supposedly does not support more than 32 GB as microSD, I quickly bought a 32 GB SanDisk Extreme in the store and tried again with the Raspbian Imager to install Ubuntu Desktop, with success.
When I connect the Pi to the monitor and start it up, the Ubuntu icon with the loading circle appears, then there is only a dark green monitor (in the picture the green is brighter than it is). The cursor is also visible and can be moved, but then it doesn't seem to install anything.
I have also tried to install the Ubuntu image with Etcher (https://ubuntu.com/download/raspberry-pi) but again it only boots up and then the screen is green.

I installed Ubuntu Desktop on my old RPi 4 Model B (2 GB) a few years ago and it boots normally with the same monitor. SD card is a SanDisk Ultra instead of Extreme, does that make a difference?

I hope someone has a solution how I can solve the problem, it shouldn't be that difficult.... It's annoying me.

Greetings
