I'm asking whether the boot ROM will recognize a FAT32 boot partition on a GPT formatted drive.

Yes, it works.

I tested it using sdm's new ability to convert a drive to GPT (after burning) and tested it on Pi5/Pi4/Pi3B+/Pi02W/Pi0W.
