Beginners • Re: Using an RPi Debug Probe to target/debug an Rpi 3b+ with SWD

Awesome! Thank you fanoush!

A few hours after I posted my question I happened to find another post from someone else from a while back that basically asked the same question and someone posted essentially the same response... jtag only for the RPis prior to 5 (and the newer microcontrollers that have built-in SWP ports).

That's an interesting idea re: modifying the debug probe firmware... nice! Image may be NSFW.

Thanks for your help and time!

P.S. I think it would be helpful for the RPi guys, themselves, to add a little note to the Debug Probe docs to also provide this info for others. As it stands, now, the docs mention something like "[the debug probe is indended] to debug the Raspberry Pis." (or something like that... paraphrasing, here)... which is true... for the Pis that have an SWD port. Noobs like me are easily confused by what they're reading when we're too green to fully understand. Image may be NSFW.

P.P.S. It would also be nice to provide some similar steps and an OpenOCD .cfg file for the Rpi 5, too (hint, hint) Image may be NSFW.
