Correct. omxplayer is deprecated, and was only ever 32bit.omxplayer is no longer supported on PI IIRC. I seem to remember it's part of the ongoing transition to the KMS GPU driver architecture that's standard across LinuxYes, but as I said, if I type that long/convoluted command it plays back fine.
I am wanting something a bit easier to use.
omxplayer on the other machine works easily.
Multiple formats accepted.
That machine is also not really set up to play sound either.
Try another player.
The way it handled audio was a little convoluted. Generally it was offloading all decode and playback to the firmware, which meant that the only audio output devices were the 3.5mm audio jack or HDMI. There was an option to use alsa for audio playback, but it was a bit of a hack.
