I've tried the ribbon cable without success, but it was my first use of DIY ribbon cable. Thanks for the thought
As for the RPi 5...that's a 12VDC system and would require a new redesign/parts. Also, it's size along with my Screen/controller
makes for a MUCH thicker unit....mine is currently 5/8" thick....if I can get it to work !
My battery is 2600 mAh 3.7VDC. I agree it might not be enough but I only plan to use my unit for a couple of hrs at a time....I shall see.
BTW- The reason I didn't go with the RPi 7" screen was because of its thickness (including the metal case/controller). I wonder if that metal
case can be removed without damaging anything. I see where OP have cut off the 'riser' tabs.
As a side note.....I ordered a 'Cutie Pi' a few months ago before I found out about the non-delivery issues, so decided to build my own
using off the shelf parts. That's why I've started this project. All the parts and pieces fit together beautifully until this adapter problem
came up and, as pointed out, there probably isn't enough ram for web browsing with the RPi Zero 2W. However I might be able to get around that issue by using a Orange Pi Zero2 (4GB). But that still leaves the HDMI adapter issue/s as mentioned in my original post.
Thanks again for the thoughts and suggestions. I'm pretty new at this DIY with RPi .....but I do enjoy it.
Regards, Tom
