4. No I cannot usefully rdp into it from a PC nor use VNC since VNC is "broken" in terms of incompatibility with wayland. Gave up on that ... a real pity.
I understand that "Works for me" can be frustrating and unproductive.
But just to report that I have an RPi[5]-4G running 64-bit RasPiOS Bookworm and I can use 'classic' (ie. NOT RPi-Connect) VNC to bring up my RasPiOS GUI Desktop on a Windows 10 'wintel' desktop PC. I am typing this reply in a browser window generated by my RPi[5], using the keyboard on the Win10 desktop.
I can do this using the RealVNC viewer client, or the TigerVNC viewer client. (The latter is what Raspberry Pi mention in their own documentation.) Ref: Screen share with VNC - https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentati ... s.html#vnc
So I can't confirm your finding that 'VNC is "broken" in terms of incompatibility with wayland'. For me it is a viable option for working with machines on my own LAN.
